So I sculpt my object, add some bump map and I import the OBJ file in blender and apply texmap and bumps. Now, I want to use normal map instead of bump map so I replace the bump image with the normal image in the blender texture but the result is bad (I didnt changed any settings from bump to normals in the texture settings).
![]() Blender Apply Bump Map Pdf But TheI tried to do exactly what you wrote in the pdf but the result is odd when I use your values (bump: 3, normals: 3) So I tried -3 and -3 as values for bump and normals and it looks better but still buggy. When i use -3 for bump and -1 for normals, it looks far better. Edit: I just noticed that in the pdf there seems to be an info missing. Under the normal course of fiddlign around myself, I tweak those settings to taste. There are several available, my preference is for ShaderMap. SL supports only two of them: the normal map (sometimes also called bump map) and the specular map. Another useful map that you can use is the AO (ambient occlusion) map. This map adds a light shadowing to the edges and crannies that adds depth to a model. SL doesnt support AO maps directly but you can blend them with Photoshop or any other image editor to your diffuse map (the texture). Blender Apply Bump Map Free Tools SuggestedI suggest you try alternative tools such as ShaderMap or one of the free tools suggested in the thread. Its actually quite expensive unless you qualify for a student license. I suspect once it leaves that state, youll have to buy a licence for that as well.
